RULE SETS

GENERAL CODE OF CONDUCT
  • Every participant has to behave with respect towards others. The participants are requested to represent esports honorably.

  • We expect players to conduct themselves according to the following values:

    • Compassion: treat others as you would be treated.

    • Integrity: be honest, be committed, play fair.

    • Respect: show respect all other humans, including teammates, competitors, and event staff.

    • Courage: be courageous in competition and in standing up for what is right.

  • Participants must not engage in harassment or hate speech in any form. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Hate speech, offensive behavior, or verbal abuse related to sex, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disability, physical appearance, body size, age, or religion.

    • Stalking or intimidation (physically or online).

    • Spamming, raiding, hijacking, or inciting disruption of streams or social media.

    • Posting or threatening to post other people’s personally identifying information (“doxing”).

    • Unwelcome sexual attention. This includes, unwelcome sexualized comments, jokes, and sexual advances.

    • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.

  • Violation of this Code of Conduct will result appropriate action by Next Tier Esports TO's. Any decision, determination or ruling made by a TO is final.

FIGHTING GAMES

DAVID MOORE and other NTEL Division Managers (NTEL Rule Officials) will apply the below rule sets to the NTEL as they see fit and may make adjustments or revisions at their discretion.

Any determination made by either NTEL Rule Official will be final.   

  • Double elimination format.

  • Preferred side is decided by coin toss.

  • 3 Stock – Items off – Final Smash off.

  • Approved Stages (Battlefield, Final Destination, Lylat Cruise, Pokemon Stadium 2 and Smashville).

  • 7 minute round, per match. If time expires, winner is player with highest stock and/or lowest %.

  • Preliminary matches, best of 3.

  • Top 3 matches, best of 5.

  • Grand Final match, best of 5 (with loser bracket reset rule).

  • Loser of a match can pick a different stage.

  • Loser of a match can change a character.

  • Tournament mode should be enacted (no pause – no exit).

  • Double elimination format.

  • Preferred side is decided by coin toss.

  • 60 second rounds. 3 rounds per match.

  • Preliminary matches, best of 3.

  • Top 3 matches, best of 5.

  • Grand Final match, best of 5 (with loser bracket reset rule).

  • Loser of a match can pick a different stage.

  • Loser of a match can change a character.  

  • Tournament mode should be enacted (no pause – no exit).

  • Double elimination format.

  • Preferred side is decided by coin toss.

  • 300 second round, per match.

  • Preliminary matches, best of 3.

  • Top 3 matches, best of 5.

  • Grand Final match, best of 5 (with loser bracket reset rule).

  • Loser of a match can pick a different stage.

  • Loser of a match can change a character once, after changing, that character is locked in.

  • Tournament mode should be enacted (no pause – no exit).

  • Double elimination format.

  • Preferred side is decided by coin toss.

  • 99 second rounds, 3 rounds per match.

  • Preliminary matches, best of 3.

  • Top 3 matches, best of 5.

  • Grand Final match, best of 5 (with loser bracket reset rule).

  • Loser of a match can pick a different stage.

  • Loser of a match can change a character. When a character change occurs, the opponent may change V-Trigger/V-Skill but NOT change character. 

  • Tournament mode should be enacted (no pause – no exit).

  • Banned stages: Skies of Honor, Kazuki Beach, High Roller Casino and Field of Fate. 

SPORTS DIVISION
  • TEAMS

  • One player from the team will be designated as team captain, all communication for the team will be done through this person and will be responsible for getting their team ready for a match.

  • Teams will elect their team colours (Primary and secondary) and is decided on a first in first serve basis.

  • If a team does not have the required number of players by the designated start time they will forfeit the match.

  • Prior to the commencement of all games, team captains will message one of the coordinators letting them know their team is ready to play.

  • Players will only join their team once all players have joined the game.

  • SKILL CAP - A team can only have one (1) Champion Rank player. 

  • MATCH SETTINGS 

  • All official matches will be played the maps Beckwith Park, Champions Field, Urban Central, Utopia coliseum and DFH stadium.

  • All official matches will be played with standard settings meaning no mutators, no alternative maps and no alternative ball types.

  • All official matches will be played on OCE servers only.

  • All official matches will have password protected servers. These passwords will change from game to game and only be given to officials, shoutcasters and teams playing.

  • All official matches will be best of 5 games excluding grand final which will be best of 7.

  • All official matches will be players only and include no bots. Even if a team is short one member there is no way to only add a bot on one team to cover the missing player.

  • When creating the server, both team names will be assigned the correct colour.

  • Best goal 

  • Best save

  • Best clutch play

 

  • PLAYER SETTINGS/CONDUCT 

  • All players may use whatever camera settings they require.

  • All players may use whatever control configuration they like which also means they may use keyboard & mouse or controller if they chose.

  • Players may customise their vehicle in any way they seem fit.

  • Player names must not include anything that may be seen as offensive, insensitive or rude and will need to be approved by the division manager.

  • Team names must not include anything that may be seen as offensive, insensitive or rude and will need to be approved by the division manager.

  • Player icons must not include anything that may be seen as offensive, insensitive or rude.

  • Player in-game chat must not include anything that may be seen as offensive, insensitive or rude. Breaching this can result in forfeiting the match and in serious cases disqualification from the competition.

  • If a player is unavailable for a game then the nominated substitute player will take their place. If no substitute can be found, the team will forfait.

Battle RoyalE DIVISION

  • NTEL Rule Officials will apply such rules to NTEL as they see fit, adapted where necessary (at their discretion). 

MOBA DIVISION
